As a Senior User Researcher in the Design & Insights team, you will play a crucial role within ZEISS Digital Partners and actively contribute to the success and impact of the digital transformation at ZEISS. You are eager to understand complex topics and contexts, ranging from medical technology to metrology. You are an expert in defining a sharp research scope building on strategic goals. You are experienced in a wide range of research and participant recruiting methodologies and share your expertise with the team. Identifying opportunities and translating insights into ideas and implementable designs comes natural to you. You are passionate about developing user-centered products and services and want to bring to life seamless customer journeys and workflows. In your role you will

  • Plan and lead Design Thinking / Strategic projects within cross-functional teams - quickly moving from early, explorative phases and initial hypotheses to prototypes, MVP definition and agile implementation

  • Help your project team to learn from the target research participants early and continuously with the appropriate method mix

  • Help our (potential) users to imagine the future, develop, iterate and test (digital) products and services, enable your project team to synthesize key insights and translate them into tangible solutions

  • Be responsible for professional and effective stakeholder management including convincing presentations and act as a reliable and strong partner for the ZEISS business units

  • Ensure an effective and close collaboration with business & tech units and high quality of project outcomes – in the sweet spot of desirability, feasibility and viability, support the professionalization of our research processes, incl. research ops and compliance and further develop our methodologies

  • Help to scale Design Thinking and UX research at ZEISS

  • A Master's degree in User Research / UX Strategy related studies (e.g. sociology, human-computer interaction, psychology, anthropology …) – or equivalent work experience
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in a leading research & innovation team in agency or in-house environment

  • A convincing track record that shows your ability to move from customer insights to MVP

  • Experience as a team / project / community of practice lead with strong project planning skills

  • A broad skillset to cover the full range of research methods – focus on qualitative research, ideally also quantitative research

  • Experience with Design Thinking, Service Design and agile ways of working

  • A natural passion and curiosity for technology, enthusiasm for innovation

  • Experience with working in interdisciplinary teams and with diverse roles, from design to business or tech experts

  • Entrepreneurial thinking, experience in a start-up environment is an advantage

  • Strong stakeholder management skills as well as verbal, written and visual presentation skills in English and ideally also German

  • The ability to communicate the value of customer centricity within a design and business context Way of working
